Back in 2008 Seefloors invented the original “Seegrass Teak”. This striking textile version of a teak deck has since covered open deck areas of countless river cruise ships as well as ocean going vessels around the globe. Made from 100% high-grade polyethylene this pre-dyed fibre is extremely UV resistent, durable and flame retardant.
More unusual colours were added – some of them becoming part of the Cooperate Identity of the Cruise Lines exterior design.
The textile feel of our original Seegrass range coupled with the durability and quick installation made our product a successfull yet inexpensive alternative to epoxy resin based deck finishes.
12 year later it was time for something new again.
THE ART OF GRASS
Artificial grass made from pre-dyed PP or PE fibres has its limits: no large range of colours available, no bespoke designs possible and often long production lead times.
With Seegrass PA we developed a textile outdoor carpet made from 100% recyclable polyamide. The specially developed fibre is colourless and open-pored. It allows the tufted artificial grass carpet to be printed using the same high end state of the art printing technology that we use on our CoreDyed tufted wool carpets.
100+ standard colours have been created and tested for UV stability and durabilty with many more to come. All with a production lead time of just 3-4 weeks and with no minimum quantities.
A standard range of nature inspired designs & patterns has been added since – but the possibilities for architects and designers are endless.
